La Piazza Fiano
La Piazza Fiano
Fiano is one of the oldest grape varieties in the world, dating back to the days of Roman viticulture. Inspired by the Italian heritage of the King Valley region a small parcel was planted at Myrrhee, a tiny hamlet in the King Valley. The vineyard is perched high on a hilltop with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
Delicate aromas of lime zest, feijoa and citrus blossom with underlying notes of fresh basil and lemon scented thyme. The palate is fresh, zesty, juicy and mouth-watering. A fine seam of minerality leads to a crunchy and refreshing finish.
Technical Information
Winemaking: The grapes for our Fiano are grown at 700 meters above sea level, the low crops and bunch architecture allow us to pick it quite ripe without the risk of disease. A small parcel is barrel fermented for complexity and the majority has been fermented very cold in tank to give a fresh and crisp Fiano fruit flavours.
